How To Wear White Jeans For Fall And Winter
Can you believe that Labor Day is this weekend? Where did this year go? Where I live, I’ve hardly had any summer since it has been so cool and rainy. I know a lot of us grew up believing that once Labor Day rolls around, the white jeans are put away until after Memorial Day. I’m here today to set you free from the past and drag you into modern times by showing you how to wear white jeans for fall and winter.
Before we talk about HOW to style white jeans, we should talk about WHAT white jeans we should wear. I have tried out many pairs of white jeans (a pro of being a fashion blogger, haha!) over the years in every style possible. My main requirement for a pair of white jeans is that they aren’t see-through! I combat this mainly by wearing nude underwear and looking for pants made of high-quality materials. I also love finding pants that help to repel stains since white jeans seem to be a magnet for lipstick stains and spilled coffee like these made with no-stain fabric from Chicos. The jeans I’m wearing in all the outfits are from this fabric, and I’ve worn them all summer long with no issues.
One of the easiest ways to wear white jeans for fall and winter has to do with the colors you choose to pair with them. Wearing your white jeans with traditional fall colors, like this Saffron colored long sweater, keeps your outfit looking seasonal.
Neutral colors look fabulous when paired with white. Beige and white is one of my favorite combinations because it looks so chic and classy. You can see me wearing this combination last winter here.
The layering Shell sweater is the perfect neutral color, and it is perfect for wearing with white jeans. I’ll wear this shell in the summer with shorts and chinos, and I never put away my shell or tanks in the winter. I ordered a large, but I think the medium would have fit better. The shell was too big for me, especially under the arms.
If you don’t already own a denim jacket (or two, or three, or four), we can change that today! I wear a Denim Jacket all year long, yes, even in the summer. If I made a list of clothing that all women (no matter the age) should own, a denim jacket would be high on the list.
I paired the denim jacket with a Cotton-blend polo sweater in a gorgeous raffia color. It is perfect for wearing with white jeans, but I’ve also worn it with regular blue jeans and even a slip skirt. It is available in many colors, and I also bought the skyline blue version. Both of these sweaters can be worn in spring and summer, so you’ll get your money’s worth from them.
I have many denim jackets, but my favorite is one I bought from Amazon. You could have knocked me over with a feather because I wasn’t expecting to love this jacket. But it has plenty of stretch, so I’m comfortable, and it looks great with everything!
To bring fall colors into the outfit, I added a coffee colored Tote Bag Crossbody and Cognac Suede D’Orsay Flats. The tote is a great medium size and will hold lots of goodies for fall, like lip balm, tissues, cough drops, and even hand sanitizer. Fall is the season for colds, so keeping these items close by is smart.
Flats are taking the fashion industry by storm, and you’ll be seeing more and more of them (that are actually cute) in the stores. I’m a huge fan of the D’Orsay style, and the cognac flats by Steve Madden are perfect. There are several other colors available, including black and tan, which I already own.
Black and white…is there a more classic combination than that? When I’m going somewhere and can’t figure out what to wear, I always fall back on a black and white outfit. It is chic, timeless, and always looks put together and stylish.
This double-breasted Houndstooth Blazer is one that I’ve worn on repeat ever since it came in the mail. A double-breasted blazer is a classic piece, and the houndstooth print is one that is always in style.
My cousin teased me as a child about having big feet, so you rarely see me wearing black shoes. I’m afraid that it draws attention to my feet, so I usually stick with neutrals instead. However, I love the black D’Orsay Flats with this outfit, and I think my feet look just fine. Lol!
In case you haven’t already gotten the memo, large totes and handbags are in this year!!! I love a large handbag, so I’m thrilled to see these back in the good graces of the fashion industry. This Italian Leather Handwoven Tote is gorgeous and has plenty of room to carry everything you might need. The quality is great, and the leather smells and feels so luxurious.
My favorite way to wear white jeans for fall and winter is anything casual. Since I don’t work outside the home, I spend a lot of my days around the house and don’t have to get all fancy. I love wearing white jeans with a tee, an oversized sweater, or a great chambray shirt.
This shirt checks off two of those lists since it is oversized and chambray. Like a denim jacket, a chambray shirt is a fall fashion essential item, and it looks great worn in many ways. I love pairing it with a sweater or cardigan, but one of my favorite ways to wear it is with a wool plaid blazer. Here are a couple of blazers the shirt would look fabulous with.
I love this large leather tote! It has a slight Western vibe, and I think it will look great with boots once the weather gets a little bit cooler. I was a little skeptical that the tote was going to be real leather since the price is pretty affordable, especially for such a nice bag. It is heavier and nicer than I thought it would be. There was no mistaking that it was leather the minute I opened the bag. One whiff and I knew for a fact that it was real. Lol!
I mentioned earlier in the post that I love wearing no-stain jeans and pants from Chico’s, and that is where this pair is from. These are the No-Stain White Girlfriend Ankle Jeans, and I sized up from a .5 to a 1 in them. I usually size up one size when wearing white jeans and pants because I don’t want them to be so tight that you can see through them. I could have easily worn my normal size .5 since the jeans are the girlfriend style and a little more relaxed than some.
Since my favorite way to wear white jeans for fall and winter is in a casual manner, I decided to style one more outfit for you. The look is the same as above; a shirt and a pair of jeans, but this shirt looks more dressy than the chambray shirt.
The Smocked Floral Shirt is a long-sleeved top that can be worn now in a lot of the country since it is lightweight. I would layer it with a denim jacket, a navy cardigan or blazer, or a cute varsity jacket this fall. This color is almost sold out in this top, but it shows inventory in the Vintage V-Neck T-Shirt in the same print.
My square Crossbody Bag is one I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I love the size and feel of it. Some crossbody bags can be too small for my phone and wallet, but this one accommodates everything without any issues. The leather is soft and feels velvety, and my DIL has it in a tan color, which is just as nice.
This is another find that I didn’t think I would like, and I LOVE!!! The Soho Drench Mule has a black chain with the Kurt Geiger signature crystal-eyed eagle head that gives these shoes a look of luxury. The quilted leather is soft and cushy, and these shoes are a pair that you can wear now and later. Here is a better look at the flats so you can see the details better.
So, have I convinced you to keep your white jeans in the closet and not pack them away???
