Kate Middleton is branded ‘a disappointment about jewellery’ unlike Queen Camilla
The remark about Princess Kate's approach to jewellery was made on the podcast Creative Conversations, which is hosted by Suzy Menkes, 79, the former Vogue editor.
The well-known critic, who in 2014 received an OBE from the late Queen for her work in fashion journalism, invited Carol Woolton, the current jewellery editor of British Vogue, on the show so they could talk about the Princess of Wales's most recent looks.
The former editor of Vogue International claimed that Kate, 41, doesn't seem as excited about jewellery as her step-mother-in-law Camilla, 76, despite having the opportunity of wearing a collection of rare and expensive diamonds.
Ms Menkes claimed: "The Princess of Wales is a bit of a disappointment about jewellery. She gives the impression that she only puts it on when she absolutely has to.
"I imagine her looking beautiful in one of those gowns behind the scenes and then pulling a face as if to say, 'Do I have to wear this?'

"She doesn’t give any sense of adoring jewellery and being pleased to put it on."
The fashion expert also emphasised how Queen Camilla, on the other hand, seems to be much more interested in jewellery.
Ms Menkes added: "She doesn’t seem to have Camilla’s joy at wearing jewellery."
The Princess of Wales wears a combination of jewellery from the Royal Collection and other items she has purchased from the high street since she married into the Royal Family.

In November 2022, Kate attended her first state banquet at Buckingham Palace as the new Princess of Wales and wore a set of Princess Diana's diamond and pearl drop earrings.
In addition, she wore a whopping £10,600 pearl tassel earrings with her green Jenny Packham dress on her royal tour to Jamaica in 2022.
The Princess clearly likes more expensive jewellery, opting to wear £3,500 white gold earrings at the Troubadour White City Theatre in November 2019.
Van Cleef and Arpels, a very expensive brand loved by all the royals, has also been explored by Kate, who wore a vintage Alhambra necklace at BAFTA in 2020 and the more recent Coronation Concert in May.
But then the mother-of-three also likes to wear high-street brands.
For instance, Kate attended the annual BAFTAs in London in March while donning a set of £17.99 rose gold dangly Zara earrings with stunning decorative leaves.
In December of last year, it was reported that the Prince of Wales had given Kate a set of £100 earrings from the high street retailer Sezane, which she wore to the Sandringham church service.
On a royal engagement in October 2021, Kate wore a pair of £11.20 gold plated twist hoop earrings from ASOS with a monochrome red outfit.
